The DB5 Sean Connery drove in the 1964 movie Goldfinger and Thunderball went for a pricey $2.6 million bought it in London yesterday.
It’s probably the most famous car in the world and american business man Harry Yeaggy’s plan is to display the car in his private car museum in Ohio just the way it is.
This original car has all the original gadgets that were shown in the films, including tyre shredders, front mounted gun barrels, a bullet-proof shield behind the rear window and a three-way revolving registration plate that reads “GOLD FINGER”, “JB007″ or “BMT216A”.
Th previous owner Jerry Lee has pledged to use the proceeds of the sale for charity. Lee bought the car directly from Aston Martin in 1969 for $12,000.
As if winning the bid for the Aston is not enough, Yeaggy will also receive an exclusive tailored suit made from Dormeiul ‘Vanquish II’ fabric woven with solid gold thread from Gieves & Hawkes, who dressed Sean Connery with bespoke tailoring for all of his appearances as James Bond. The value of this is estimated at £30,000
