If you like auctions and you are looking for a second hand car a little different for 2011, well then this used hydro-car is just the thing for you. It’s currently on auction on eBay for a staggering €594,051 but I’m sure if you bid lower you could get yourself a bargain.
The hydro-car also known as the Dobbertin was created by Rick Dobbertin and it took him over 19,000 hours to make in a nine year period. But be warned that this car is not the most ideal car for getting around the city, and the creator will be the first to tell you that “If your looking for a daily driver – this isn’t it” .
The engine comes from a Chevrolet and holds 750bhp, but it needs every bit of power it has as it weights a massive 4tons. It certainly isn’t the quickest car on land but it can reach speeds of up to 60km on water.
The paintwork is bright yellow, and some of the visuals include a pair of bucket seats, pop-up headlamps and a neatly trimmed cockpit. The Dobbertin is able to switch from land mode to water mode by the flick of a switch.
